NEW ROLE – Sign & Production Designer

Responsibilities of the job include:

  • Converting artwork to scaled files & proofing.
  • Extracting items from tender drawings, scaling, breaking apart and detailing for pricing, or for use in production files.
  • Working closely with the tender bid manger to have files and elements for each tender broken out & priced on time.
  • Working on general signage and wayfinding artwork for approval.
  • Typesetting, proofing and prepress of our wayfinding products.
  • A good understanding of materials and signage solutions for sign projects would be beneficial.
  • The use of plotting software and equipment to prepare graphics for installations.
  • Assisting in the general requirements of a day-to-day office and enquiries.

Skills required.

  • Highly proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).
  • An understanding of signage design would be beneficial
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong time management with the ability to quickly switch gears where necessary in order to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present to the team your direction and any queries if not sure about anything.
  • Strong sense of ownership; ability to estimate and manage workloads and prioritize efficiently.
  • Strong typesetting skills.
  • Must have extreme attention to detail.
  • Previous experience in the ability to process enquiries, and specifications to allow the various elements of the job be broken out for pricing etc.
  • Operation of Vinyl plotter when required.

Experience required:

  • Experience working in the Signage Industry would be
  • Knowledge of extracting technical details from drawings
  • Experience operating a vinyl cutting machine.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: €34,000.00-€36,000.00 per year

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse signage tender documents, drawings and specifications and prepare budget submissions to meet client deadlines
  • Liaise with clients to clarify specs and approve any alternative designs ahead of costing
  • Collaborate with our in-house design team to develop cost-effective signage solutions that meet tender specifications
  • Negotiate best rates for sign production with relevant vendors in our supplier network
  • Build good working relationships with our supply partners to keep service levels high
  • Track our supplier costs versus market rates and find alternative vendors as necessary
  • Write up and issue tenders along with supporting documentation and sales material
  • Maintain a database of all bids/tenders for use by the management team
  • Keep management updated on the status of tenders and client feedback

Skillset and Qualities:

  • 1-3 years experience
  • ·Qualification in Quantity Surveying or background in managing construction projects is desirable
  • Must be well organised, deadline-driven and comfortable working several tender projects simultaneously
  • Attention to detail and focus is essential for proof reading and spec-checking tender documents
  • Need good people skills and assertiveness to motivate suppliers to meet deadlines and give best rates
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills and good email etiquette
  • Self-motivated team player and creative problem-solver who connects well with colleagues, suppliers and clients
  • Knowledge of sign design / corporate branding is advantageous
  • Desire to learn and use initiative to develop your role and standing in the company

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Weekends free

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: €40,000.00-€45,000.00 per year
